Can your vehicle tow it?

Pick your truck or SUV, then pick what you want to tow. You'll get a straight answer based on the manufacturer's towing rating, plus the tongue weight and payload math most calculators skip.

Check your setup

1 Your vehicle
2 What you want to tow

3 Add your payload (optional, more accurate)

Look for the yellow Tire and Loading Information sticker on the driver's door jamb. It says "The combined weight of occupants and cargo should never exceed" a number. That number is your payload.

Where the numbers come from

Every towing rating on this site comes from the manufacturer: official spec sheets, press kits, and the towing guides automakers publish each year. Each page lists its source and the date we checked it. Trailer weights come from boat, camper, and trailer makers' published specs, adjusted for the fuel, water, and gear that dry weights leave out.

Ratings assume the vehicle is properly equipped. Your real limit depends on your exact configuration, so treat this as a starting point and confirm with your owner's manual. Here's how.
